Clothing sizes vary dramatically between countries and even between different brands within the same country. A US size 8 woman is EU 38 = UK 12. A US men Medium = EU 48-50. Understanding international size conversion is essential for shopping online from overseas retailers and fashion brands.
US sizes run numerically (0, 2, 4, 6, 8...) while EU uses even numbers (32, 34, 36, 38...) and UK is different again (4, 6, 8, 10, 12...). EU = US + 30 approximately. UK = US + 4 approximately. Sizes are based on bust, waist, and hip measurements in inches or centimeters.
Men use letter sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL) or numeric chest sizes (36, 38, 40, 42...) in inches. EU numeric = US/UK chest inches + 10. A US/UK 40-inch chest = EU 50. Shirt collar sizes: US 15 = EU 38, US 16 = EU 41.
